Project Description:

This water line project involves relocation of approximately 12,700 feet of water line due to the proposed MoDOT M150 Road Widening Project.  The project starts at Market Drive and ends at the emergency interconnect vault structure near the West City Limits. Approximately 3,700 feet of water line in existing easements from Market Drive to Regatta Drive will be relocated and replaced with 12-inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. From Regatta Drive to West City Limits, approximately 9,000 lineal feet of water line in right-of-way will be relocated and replaced with 12-inch HDPE pipe. The water line will connect with Kansas City Missouri's water main at the emergency interconnect vault.

Project Rationale:

The existing water line has a maintenance history of numerous repairs. Very corrosive soils have been observed along the project alignment. The larger water line is needed to provide adequate fire flows and water pressure in the area. The existing water main is located within the proposed M150 Road Widening Project.

Status Details:

Contractor's remaining work includes the water & sewer crossings at Windemere, several connections to existing water mains, and final project clean-up.
