Project Description:

This project includes the addition of a median on Douglas between Vicotria and Tudor, a southbound right-turn lane at Victoria and associated signal relocations and modifications at the intersections to accomodate U-turn traffic. Continuous street lighting will also be installed along Douglas Street between Chipman Road and I-470.

Project Rationale:

The improvements will control unsignalized vehicle movements to improve safety and roadway capacity as the traffic volumes along this major corridor continue to increase.

Status Details:

This project is currently being designed. Public comments about the project were recieved at a public meeting and through the City's website. The comments have been posted on the website at the following address: http://cityofls.net/Transportation/Traffic/Douglas-Street-Improvements.aspx City staff has decided to delay construction of the project until 2011 based on the comments that were recieved. Delaying the project will allow construction to be completed before Novemeber 2011.
