Project Description:

This project involves the reconstruction of Blackwell from the south edge of Legacy Park to just south of Langsford Road as a three-lane undivided roadway, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and drainage structures. The project also includes reconstruction of the intersection at Blackwell and Langsford which includes the installation of a traffic signal. The project is partially funded by Jackson County since a portion of the road is in the county.

Project Rationale:

Blackwell Road will be a major north- south corridor on the east side of the City. The projected increase in traffic in this area due to development and the new park warrant the need for improvements. This project is part of the 1997 Road Sales and Excise Tax program.
